How Part 1 & Part 2 Work

Every student begins with Part 1. What happens next depends on whether you need the 4-hour Basic Course, the 12-hour Extended Course or Colorado CHP classroom training.

Everyone Starts With Part 1 Book Part 1 whether you need the 4-hour course or the first six hours of the 12-hour course.

Part 1

4 or 6-Hour Session

Part 1 serves both 4-hour Basic students and students beginning the 12-hour Extended Course.

  • Every student books and attends Part 1
  • Basic Course students complete four hours
  • Extended Course and CHP students remain for all six hours
For 4-Hour Students At hour four, Basic Course students take their required test and are dismissed after successfully completing the course.

Part 2

6-Hour Session

Part 2 completes the remaining six hours of the Extended Course.

  • Required for students completing the 12-hour course
  • Available for Colorado CHP classroom requirements
  • Part 1 must be completed before attending Part 2
  • Part 1 and Part 2 do not have to be consecutive
Who Books Part 2? Book Part 2 only if you need the full 12-hour Extended Course or want to complete the Colorado CHP classroom portion.
